September 2016 VHF Contest
Posted by Jarred - KF2MR

The contest is quickly approaching, starting on Saturday 9/10 at 1800 UTC and running through Sunday night. I have a couple of improvements I plan to make over the next few weeks to be ready. I am trying to get to them now so I am not stressed out the night before with a soldering iron in my hand when I should be sleeping. I will be active on 50-3456 and 10G with some TX power improvements likely on 902 and possible on 2304.

Please plan on participating in the Dinner and Rover Blitz on Sunday. Lots of FM gear is available to loan out if you would like to participate and help out the club score. Details will be posted when we get a bit closer, but mark your calendars now!

Feel free to post your ideas, bands you will be operating, rover schedule, or anything else relevant to the contest here.

My plans are to scout new areas close to the FN12/13/22/23 convergence on Saturday. No real plan, but I will be on the air.

On Sunday (all times local):

0800 FN13gb
1100 FN03wa
1400 FN02wv
1800 Dinner in Le Roy

I will get in FN12 in there at some point, depending on activity it could be before or after dinner.

As always, times are subject to change (and usually do). I am available via cell phone if you would like to schedule a contact.

Dinner? You are welcome to join us for dinner at Mooney's in LeRoy at 6pm on Sunday. Following the dinner we we have a short rover blitz. You can have a good meal and help the club score by participating. No need to pack or setup any equipment if you do not want to. A spare set of HTs is available for 50 - 2304 MHz.
